Just In: Govt Allows “Large” Companies To Import Own Fuel As Fuel Shortages Bite
As the country’s fuel shortages have returned the government has now resorted to allowing “large” companies to import their own fuel. However, the fuel is only meant to be for the companies’ own use and not for sale. At today’s cabinet meeting the government allowed Mining and Farming companies to import fuel for their own operations. The announcement was made by Energy Minister Joram Gumbo after the cabinet meeting. Despite increasing the price by 150 percent in January, the Government has struggled to end fuel shortages which have intensified since October 2018.
